Nintendo is done paying Elon Musk for X integration

1 min read

● Nintendo will no longer allow direct integration from the Nintendo Switch’s image album to X (formerly Twitter) starting on June 10, 2024.
● Other major console makers, Sony and Microsoft, have already pulled the plug on native screen-sharing to X due to high API fees.
● X’s API fees start at $42,000 monthly, causing companies like Nintendo to reconsider the cost effectiveness of using the platform for marketing purposes.
● Despite the end of direct integration, users can still post Switch screenshots to X by transferring them to a mobile device or computer first.
● Nintendo warns that integrated Facebook sharing may also be discontinued in the future.
